Nou Camp Set For Upgrade?

The Camp Nou, Barcelona’s famous footballing home, could be set for a major upgrade that would transform the look of the stadium, whilst also increasing it’s capacity to over 100,000. The proposals which would cost over €250m to become a reality include adding a roof to the stadium whilst creating a mosaic like exterior that will act as a rain shield and illuminate the stadium at night making it visible for miles around.

The design, which is seemingly influenced by Munich’s Allianz Arena, includes an upgrade on the stadiums’ corporate and media facilities, and also includes a new stadium museum, increasing the Nou Camp’s revenue potential away from football. The new capacity once the project is completed will be 106,000, reaffirming its position as Europe’s largest stadium.

No date has been set for construction to begin.
